Memoranda by Skipper. Friday 12th July 1889 whilst fishing 400 miles ENE of Spurn. Skipper of the Heron spoke to me saying he had man onboard ill with cold in his head & requested one to bring him home. I took him onboard about 8pm on Saturday 13th he appeared to be much better. I continued fishing . On Sunday he became much worse and we had to watch him he died 9pm on Sunday. I arrived alongside promenade 6am Tuesday 16th . The mans name James Tadman 8 Gilbert Street Hessle Road.
