Memoranda by Skipper. 25th May H Collingworth/ Cullingworth AB came down to the vessel worse for drink. & upon my remonstrating with him, he deserted the ship & I was consequently obliged to engage a substitute in order to get the vessel to sea.

Entry made by H.M Consuls or by Superintendents of Mercantile Marine Offices. On the 6th of July 1889 when settling with Henry Cullingworth AB who deserted the vesel at Milford on the 25th May a fine of 5/- was inflicted for coming down to the vessel on that date the worse for drink. ( see regulation 5 for maintaining discipline printed on page 3 hereof )
