July 15th John W Jones deck hand. The skipper asking him to throw some muck overboard and he refused, said get someone else to do it. He has been caught asleep several times, when he has been spoken to about it he would turn around and start swearing.

Under regulation 6 for maintainingdiscipline printed on page 3 of this agreement, the late deck hand of this vessel John W Jones when being settled with this day for his services which terminated on the 26th July last, was fined five shillings and this amount has been paid to the Superintendent of the Mercantile marine at Hull this 15th October 1890.
