This is to certify that J MacDonald did use foul, disgusting and threatening language to the master of the smack Governor and did wilfully neglect his duty on the 20th December.

Entry by Mercantile Marine Office. For continued wilful disobedience to lawful commands during the voyage, ended 3rd January 1890. The identified J MacDonald was on Monday the 5th January at Hull Police Court fined 10/- plus costs & to forfeit 6 days pay or in default 21 days imprisonment.
