Description

Admin History:
The Probus Movement began in Feb 1966 at Caterham, Surrey. The Hull Jubilee Probus Club was founded in 1977, Queen Elizabeth II 's Silver Jubilee year. Today there are more than 500 Probus Clubs in Great Britain and Ireland. Others have been formed in Europe, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. Each club is a separate entity with its own rules and programme. A Probus Information Centre exists and maintains a website. The aim of the Hull Probus Club was for retired gentlemen to meet socially once or twice a month. There was no limit to the number of members that the club had but it was hoped that it would not exceed around 150.
