Subseries contains hanging, pocket, and draft syllabuses providing details of events taking place during individual sessions of the Hull Literary Club, which sessions ran from October to March. Regular 'Ordinary Meetings' were held throughout individual sessions at which literary papers were presented by members of the Club, and the title and author of individual papers are listed in the syllabuses. Annual dinners, 'Yuletide Revels', ladies evenings, and AGMs were also a feature of the Club's activities and these too are listed in the syllabuses. Syllabuses were discussed and arranged as part of the business of council meetings, and the club's secretary was responsible for producing the syllabuses for circulation to members.
