First concert of the season, featuring Anna Markland, was conducted by Andrew Penny 'the first musical director to conduct a concert for over half a century'; Performance of Elgar's Violin Concerto by Ralph Holmes; Sparce audience at the Sponsored Concert; Mrs Pat Mitchell to act as Orchestra Leader; David Scotney noted as 'publicity manager and programme producer'; Arrangements for floral decorations at concerts by Mr and Mrs Wainhouse; Thanks to Miss Margaret Brown as Concert Secretary; Continued enthusiasm of Chairman despite his removal 'foreign parts'; Financial aid received from Local Authorities, the NFMS, and the Regional Arts Council.
