Society's 90th Anniversary celebrated with commission of a new symphony from Wilfred Josephs; Dissappointing public support for first concert of the season; Power cuts during second concert of the season; Inauguration of 'Sponsored Concerts' supported by Sponsored Concerts Appeal Fund; Three Sponsored Concerts in coming season featuring the Ulster Orchestra, Victoria de los Angeles, and Artur Rubinstein; Orchestra concerts in coming season to feature Peter Frankl, Campoli, Lady Barbirolli, and Fou Ts'ong; Sponsored Fund to be treated as a separate entity from Society's ordinary funds; Replacement of banners by family of the late Jean Slack; Resignation of Mr Beagle; Appointment of part-time secretarial assistant Miss Margaret Brown.
