Correspondence relating to the Aukland Avenue Allotments and land on the south side of Inglemire Lane, Hull

Reference No:
C DSSF/1/3/7/1
Dates:
9 Sep 1920-5 Jul 1961
Description:
This correspondence is mostly between the Port of Hull Society & Sailors' Orphan Homes and Messrs T. Priestman Sons & Slack Solicitors and Hull Corporation. The bundle includes 3 plans of the areas in question and agreements in relation to the land. The Auckland Avenue land was purchased by the Society from Haworth-Booth in 1920. The Corporation had a lease on the land hence the correspondence in the bundle. The Inglemire Lane widening was a separate issue in the late 1920's. It appears that the Society owned the land on which the Corporation wanted to use to widen the lane. It is worth noting here that Inglemire Lane was historically referred to as 'Igglemire Lane' and the documents in this bundle often refer to it as such.
