The title is a reference to Lady Astor's comment that those involved in France on D-Day were the real fighters and those absent were 'D-Day Dodgers'. Carr was involved in the bitter fighting in Italy at the time. No apology was ever made for her comments. Includes two photographs of Carr, one when he joined the army and the other from 2011.
