Admin History:

The Children's Committee of Hull City Council was established in July 1948 to carry out the powers and duties under the 1948 Children's Act. In the 1950s and 1960s, it would acquire some powers and duties from the Education Committee as well as others from the Children's Act of 1958 and the Children's and Young Persons Acts of 1933, 1952 and 1956. In 1971, it became part of the Social Services Committee.
