The Ferry Boat Dock Commmittee was set up in May 1845 by the town council after it received a petition calling for improvements to the ferry boat dock facilities. It reported back to the Property Committee in March 1846, who in turn reported back to the full council in the April, who gave the go-ahead for improvements in the May of 1846. The committee does not appear to have met again after presenting its report. Note, the Chairman of the Ferry Boat Committee, Mr. Alderman Thompson, should not to be confused with Mr. Thomas Thompson, the Town Clerk, Hull.
