Hull Town Council Pumping Station (Special) and Pumping Station Committees

Dates:
1881-1887

Description

Admin History:
The Pumping Station Committee was established in October 1881. It was directed to prepare plans and estimates for supplementing the drainage of the Borough by pumping stations and submit the same for the consideration of the council. The Special Committee met for the last time in July 1884 when it's duties were taken over by the Pumping Station Committee. This had started as a sub-committee of the Special Committee in December 1881 before being raised to a full committee in November 1882. From July 1884 was added the responsibility to control and manage the West District Pumping Station and to employ a sufficient number of workmen and servants to ensure it worked properly. The committee was terminated August 1886 with responsibility for the pumping station passed to the Works Committee and control of the site passed to the Property Committee.
