Description

Admin History:
Made up of the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of both the Works and Watch Committees, the first Streets (Special) Committee was established in February 1911. It could make orders preventing obstructions in the street during public processions, rejoicing or illuminations or where streets are thronged or liable to obstruction. It was an ad-hoc committee, only called when required. Its responsibilities were taken over by the Technical Services Committee in 1974 under the reorganisation of local government.
