Admin History:
The River Hull, was for many years, referred to as the Harbour or the Old Harbour, and as a consequence, had it's own harbourmaster, sometimes called the haven master. Until 1907 the harbourmaster was appointed by Hull's Trinity House. After that date they were appointed and paid by the Humber Conservancy Board. The Corporation of Hull took over responsibility for the post in 1924
