Closely associated with this material are the records of the Parliamentary Committee of the council (reference C TCD). These consist of minutes (see reference C TCM), which include reports of the town clerk and other officers on individual bills and committee papers which include working papers and documents relating to several bills promoted in a single session.

Other public bodies in the area also took an interest in legislation, and records relating to these can be found within those of the Hull Board of Health (C BHH), Newington Board of Health (C BHN) and the Humber Conservancy (C DPD/1) and the Aire and Calder Navigation (C DPD/2). Promoters of bills were obliged to deposit plans, books of reference and notices with the Clerk of the Peace and clerks to the local authority whose areas were affected by their proposals. These are to be found within the records of the Quarter Sessions, (C CQP), the Board of Health (C BHH) and the Hull Corporation (C TRD). Copies of many bills and acts may also be found within C SRL/Acts, sees the index cards in the searchroom for more details.

The Parliamentary Archives holds the minutes relating to debates in both the House of Lords and the House of Commons and the various select committees assembled to review the proposed legislation.
