Enoch Emmerson Jacklin of 28 Morpeth Street. Was a volunteer in the rescue service who dug tunnels and saved people from the debris at the Blenheim Street incident 2-3 Jun 1941 and the incident at the Young People's Institute (YPI) and LNER buildings, George Street on 17 Jul 1941. He was eventually awarded the British Empire Medal.
Mrs. May Rogerson writes as one of those he rescued.
