- Created by the City Engineer's Department of the City and County of Kingston upon Hull during the Second World War.
- Description:
Letters notifying the authorities of outstanding conduct performed by men and women, both civilians and members of the Civil Defence service, in some cases including detailed reports, witness statements and dates of the incident concerned.
Also includes recommendations for Gallantry Awards, though not all were successful. In some cases the outcome of the recommendations are noted in this list, for example, whether individuals were given a commendation, a British Empire Medal (BEM) or an MBE.
