In 1631 Thomas Ferries left property in North Ferriby to the Corporation of Hull, the income from which was to support poor orphans through their apprenticeship. It was consolidated as part of the United Charities of Kingston upon Hull in 1913. From the 1440s until 1835, North Ferriby was part of the administrative county of Hull
