Admin History:
In 1631 Thomas Ferries left property to the Corporation from which money was to be paid to the poor of Hull and the poor of Howden. The rest of the income was to be used to maintain a poor Hull boy at Oxford or Cambridge. Thomas Bury in 1628 also gave property to the Corporation to maintain a boy from either Hull or Beverley at school and then at Cambridge. The two charities were administered by the Corporation as one
