Recalls going to the shelter when the sirens went and how one bomb dropped close to the shelter. When another hit next doors bedroom her father helped get the furniture out and use the stirrup pumps to put the fire out. She also says that a bomb dropped on Binnington's but that everybody got out.

On another occaision when visiting somebody at Anlaby Common they heard the sirens and they went into a shelter. Her father was at home as a fire-watcher when a bomb dropped nearby but he was ok and how she helped her mother clear the broken glass.
