Description:

Recalls how she was reading her book when the sirens went off and went with her mother to the shelter just as a bomb hit the bottom of their street. The Warden came in and said they had to go to the Victory Hall where a man gave her a cup of tea and two biscuits. When they were allowed to go back to the house 'there wasn't half a mess'.

She also remembers the T.B. Holmes School being bombed.
