At the outbreak of World War Two, Hull had put into place many procedures and the evacuation of children from the city was a priority, with children often evacuated as a school group. Minnie Gertrude Dunham was born in 1900 in Derbyshire and became a teacher in Hull in 1919. She died in 1968.
