Records relating to the public duties of Sir Arthur J. Atkinson, J.P.

Admin History:: Arthur Joseph Atkinson was born in Hull in 1864 and would become particularly active within the city's shipping business as well as within local politics and charities. He was a J.P in the East Riding and became Sheriff of Hull in 1917. An active member of the Conservative Party, he was knighted in 1929. He died in Elloughton, Brough in 1959.
