Admin History:

The Cyclists' Touring Club (CTC) was founded as the Bicycle Touring Club in 1878. It adopted the name Cyclists' Touring Club in 1883 and was incorporated in 1887. The club promoted cycling, organised rallies and produced guides and maps for members. The CTC continues to champion cyclists and cycling (see http://www.ctc.org.uk/).

The Hull and East Riding District Association was founded on 10th June 1925 (see DSCT/1 for the inaugural meeting) from the Mid-Yorkshire District Association. The first meeting also saw the adoption of purple and amber as the colour clubs in preference to green and gold and chocolate and white which were also suggested.
