Description

Admin History:

The British ice hockey club, Hull Stingrays and their predecessor clubs, Humberside Seahawks (1988-1999) and Hull Thunder (1999-2003) were all based at, and played their home games at the Hull Arena.

The Stingray team was a member of the Elite Ice Hockey League from 2003 until 2015 and was sold twice during that period, eventually going into liquidation in June 2015.

A takeover by Elite League rivals Coventry Blaze allowed the club to complete the 2010-11 season after its owners Mike & Sue Pack announced in August 2010 that the club was to fold due to lack of funds. However, at the end of the following season Covenrty Blaze announced that they intended to sell the club and in May 2012 they accepted an offer from Stingrays' bench coach Bobby McEwan.

It was a short reprieve and in June 2015 the club was placed into liquidation.
