Hull Vikings Match Programmes

Dates:
Jul 1949- Apr 2004

Description

Admin History:

Originally known as the Hull Angels, the team was based at Hedon and raced between 1947 and 1949.

When speedway returned to Hull in 1971 the team became known as the Vikings and they raced at The Boulevard on a 380 metres long track. However, financial pressure and falling crowds saw the club fold once more in 1981 and when the team re-formed in 1995 they had moved to Craven Park and raced on a track 346 metres long.

1999 saw the team racing in the Elite League, but it was in the Premier League where they gained most success, racing to the treble of Premier League Champions, winners of the Knock Out Cup and the Craven Shield in 2004.

Despite their success, the club suffered further financial difficulties and just one year later it folded.
