Being the substance of two sermons preached at Nun Apleton, Feb 17 1666 the Lord's Day immediately ensueing the marriage between Edward Wormseley of Riccall in the County of York Esquire and Mrs Dorothy Fairfax of Nun Apleton one of the daughters of Charles Fairfax of Menston in the said County.

A typed note at the front of the volume states that 'Dorothey Fairfax was the 3rd daughter of Charles Fairfax (1597-1673) and grandchild of Sir Thomas (afterwards 1st Lord) Fairfax of Denton and Nun Appleton. She was cousin to General Fairfax. Her father, Charles Fairfax, was Colonel in Monk's Army and appointed Governor of Hull in 1660. He retired after a year and was granted a pension by Charles II out of customs at Hull.
