Ten autograph letters from Joseph Clark and others to John Brook, solicitor of York, concerning the operation of the theatre in Hull. Includes finances, engagement of leading actors and actresses, local accomodation for inherent actors. Letter dated 26 Oct 1833 is of partciular importance and interest in local theatrical annals. The letter dated 28 Oct 1839 concerns an offer to take on the management of the Theatre, and undertaking to open the Theatre again promptly.
