Admin History:

Whilst in the Local Studies Library's previous location at the Hull Central Library on Albion Street these items were held in safes and the safe is identified in the description of each item. The collection also includes some material formerly held within the Local Studies book series that was deemed archival.

L SP/97, items from the collection of Thomas Mapplebeck of Hull. Thomas Mapplebeck aquired a collection of autographs and portraits of royal and other distinguished indivduals. Among the most notable of these were monarchs of England, from Henry VII to Queen Victoria much of which went to auction in London in 1891. Despite this a small number of items from the collection found its way into the possession of Hull Local Studies Library.
