Description:

George de Boer appears to have been an Officer and assisted in the organisation of some of the camps. The material relates to various camps and mainly consists of correspondence between organisers and equipment and transport suppliers. Topics include lost property, the possibility of medical students being rushed through their courses and their exams made easier in the event of war (Sep 1938), opinion that attendance may be down due to conscription (Jun 1939) and postcard notifying cancellation of camp (1940).

Also contains booklets about the camp (1935, 1937, 1939, 1940), map and notes of geology of Yorkshire Wolds and Holderness areas, lists of occupants of each tent (1937, 1938), equipment required (1938), correspondence sent and excursions to be undertaken, train timetables (Aug 1938, Aug 1939), letter to Mrs De Boer from M. Bedford with family news (Aug 1952) and two notebooks with notes related to organisation of camps (1931, 1938-1940).
