Description:
Writes that leeches were applied to her mother's side as she was in a great deal of pain, but that it only seemed to make her feel worse. The doctor stayed with her all night trying to assuage her pain but she has died. They sent for a priest fourteen miles away but he did not arrive in time. Has now sent for Uncle George and expects him to arrive on Sunday.
