b) William Raikes, Maryland Point and London :- plans for sending out a coach, made by Mr. Hatchet, which W.M. has had in Denmark, and efforts to get Mr. H. to reduce his bill for it; suggests R.D. invites someone out to St. Petersburg as a companion to travel back home with; news of mutual friends; shipping prosperous; trade; 'impertinent, ill-natured, envious paragraphs which appeared in the Morning Post and some other papers on my return. I have very good reason to think they were inserted by that dirty Rascal Jos. Hornby of Gainsbro'; 'Mrs. Raikes and five of my Babes .... at Margate Bathing in the Sea'; business affairs.
