- Prior to marriage of John son of R.C. and Dorathie daughter and heir of Sir R.U.: - - Sir R.U. to settle the manor of Kexby and his estate in Kexby and Catton (of which he had a grant of the reversion, after death of Lady Cromwell, widow of Sir Anthony Ughtred, by Letters Patent (1 May 1552) to Henry Ughtred of Bilton, Thomas Swale of Stanley and Bryan Snowsell of Esyngwold, esqs. To recited uses. Sir R.C. to settle lands of 20 marks yearly value to William Babthorp, esq. son and heir of Sir William B., Thomas Craythorne and Robert Constable of Hotham, esqs. to uses of J. & D.C. Sir R.C. to deliver 100 marks worth of goods and chattels to J. & D.C. within 20 days of the marriage; and to pay £200 to Sir R.U. Witn. William Babthorpe, Robert Constable, Antonie Smethley, Thomas Satt [ ]
