- Skirmish between Cumberland with Roland's Dragoons (20 killed, many wounded) and 400 rebels about 3 miles beyond Penrith. Col. Honeywood wounded by a ball. Royal Hunters attacked 200 - 300 rebels at Lowther Hall, killed 10 and dispersed rest. Main body of rebels have reached Carlisle but in poor condition. A general rout expected soon
