- Great quantity of ammunition found near Stirling, abandoned by fleeing rebels. Duchess Dowager of Perth and Viscountess Strathallan commited to Edinburgh Castle. 'Hazard' sloop retaken with 45 officers on board. Weather severe. Cumberland and army at Perth. Prisoners brought in daily. Patrols prevent rebels from having subsistence from Lowlands. Hessians in Edinburgh and said to be finest troops ever seen in Scotland
