a) Gift: Roger de Marlay to Priory of North Ferriby ('bretheren of the Temple of the Lord in Ferriby'): 3 crofts in Burton (i.e. the croft of the priest. Brotherhen croft, and croft which Norman the reeve ('prepositus') held, as they are encloses by ditches, the causeway S.) with pasture in the moor of Burton for 8 oxen, 6 cows, 100 sheep, and 2 horses, and free entry to and exit from the moor: Also quitclaims to them 1 mark from his mill of Stenigton (See b)). Witn. William de Marlay, Henry de Coniers, pre 1239

b) Gift: Roger de Marlay to the Temple of the Lord in Jerusalem (Priory of North Ferriby?): 1 mark silver yearly from his mill of Stenigton which his brother William gave to them frankalmoign: Witn. Robert the chaplain 'writer of this charter', William de Vesey, Richard Bertram, Roger son of Gromboldy, (pre 1239) Endorsed 'Graunte of the More to the Prior of Fereby'

Attached is 'Proofs that the Manor of Harpham, Thurnholm and Gransmore are holden of the manor of Burton Agnes and that the Seigniory of the Moore apertains solely to the Ld. of Burton', circa 1704-5
