Reference to an offer of financial assistance made by Jones, writer's health, apologies for not making it to Northumberland to stay with Jones but hopes that will in Summer 1967, Dorothy has written two and a half chapters of Saintsbury, Louis Rose has got the writer into writing again, Dorothy and the writer were prepared for Confirmation at St Mary le Bow in the Norman crypt, saw Dorothy Tutin in Portrait of a Queen last night and comments on the same, being taken to the Hotel Russell by Marjorie Daunt, go to see their friends the Redpaths on Tuesday at Newport, fly to Montreal the following Wednesday, then a few days in Vermont, Jones should visit them in Vermont and Manhattan, must finish introduction to a selection of Saintsbury's essays on fiction, a mass of examinations to read for the English department at Queens, writer's cousin Margaret Powell, have been living with Kathleen Gettins this summer who wrote a life of Brummell and a life of the Duchess of Marlborough, wishes Jones and Philip [Larkin] luck with their 'reducing'.
