- Reference to 'Frost at Midnight', prayers for Ernest to be held at mass on 22 Dec and a buffet supper in the evening, will be going to Oregon for a week at the end of January, recovering from Hong Kong flu, has been in Virginia over Thanksgiving weekend, shall come to Britain as usual during next year's sabbatical, thankful to have had a visit with Jones at Haydon Bridge last summer, notes Jones is a poor correspondent but is thankful that they pick up where they left off no matter how long between meetings.
