- Reference to a letter received from Jones, upcoming exams, has 'got down to rolling my own cigarettes', news of a wedding, Jones' telegram being the second that the writer read out, Tup made a wonderful speech, experience at a French train station and getting to a quay only to miss a boat, slept overnight on the station and caught a cargo boat to Folkestone the next morning, snow-storm [snow globe] from Jones, heard some cricket news in Germany, has formed 'no alien attachments, enquiry as to when Jones will be in Leicester, not keen on Paradise Regained either.
