Includes references to the following: reports of visits to East and Goodwin lightvessels by Ted Hughes; reports of visits by Reverend Peter C. Webber as honorary chaplain to Varne lightvessel; concerns that the South Goodwin lighvessel is to be automated; Trinity House launches from Dover used to transport honorary chaplains; Christmas 1983 visits made aboard the Dover lifeboat 'Rotary Service'; weather conditions experienced during visits; delivery of newspapers and books to crews of the lightvessels.
