File containing correspondence between Mrs Vickerman, Miss E.C. Davis, Miss E.J. Smith, Mr Wilson and Commander W.A.C. Dickson on behalf of various 'Parent' group for Round Island lighthouse, and G.L. Parnell as the chaplain of and as secretary of the Lightships and Lighthouses Committee of the Missions to Seamen. Includes references to the following: lighthouse adoption scheme; adoption of Round Island lighthouse by the Leeds Ladies Association, with Vickerman as representative; adoption of the lighthouse by the Leeds Knitting League, with Davis and Smith as representatives; names of lighthouse keepers; prayer cards; Christmas hampers during wartime and shoeboxes for individual keepers; Reverend S.A.R. Guest as chaplain to the lighthouse; sending of small parcels throughout the year; dissolution of the Leeds Knitting League.
