File containing chaplains' completed returns, chaplains' monthly reports, notes, photograph and correspondence between Reverend J. Wilfred Clift as the chaplain of the Calshot Spit Light Vessel and Commander A. G. D. 'Guy' Bagot and A. Powell Hutchison as secretaries of the Lightships and Lighthouses Committee of the Missions to Seamen. Includes references to the following: expenses; visits to the light ship; the Calshot Spit being in dry dock; use of the 'Winston Churchill' vessel to visit the light ship; the launch 'Mendell' also 'Mendal'; sending of mail, papers and fresh bread to the lightvessel; dependancy on the British Transport Docks for transport to the lightvessel.
