F.C. Heaven, the author of this collection, was possibly Frederick Charles Heaven, timber merchant's clerk and later salesman, recorded as working at 9 Savile Chambers, Savile Street in the 1892 Hull Trade Directory. He probably worked at Heaven & Kesterton Ltd, timber merchants. He was born about the year 1862 and died in late 1929.
