- Expresses pleasure at the re-arrangement of the chalcedonies that Fletcher has carried out. Goes on to say that they are the minerals best drawn to public notice as there is a greater possibility of finding one than a diamond. Ruskin asks Fletcher to get some minerals out for display in a new case. He states that he'll arrive early the next day and if any specimens are missing he hopes Mr Davies will be able to get them and Ruskin can continue with his prisms.
