Admin History:

Arram Hall lies just south of the village of Bewholme and about three miles west of Hornsea.

The hall is believed to have been built by Nicholas Waller in the early 17th Century and the sale catalogue describes it as being a "Red Brick and tiled house that was surrounded with well-timbered Park-like Lands". The Hall seems to have passed through a number of families including the Dobsons and the Hilyards. In 1804 Sir Robert D'Arcy Hilyard Bt sold the estate to Thomas Bainton and it remained in the Bainton family until the sale in 1898.

The property was sold at auction by Messrs Humbert and Flint at the George Hotel in Hull.

It is believed to have been purchased by Thomas Reed in 1899 and then re-sold a number of times before it was purchased by Lady Ernestine Strickland-Constable and became part of the Strickland-Constable estate. It is a Grade II listed building.
