- Photocopy. Personal diary of Broughton's life on board a Wilson Line liner, the SS Rinaldo, in 1902 recounting experiences including an accident which was reported in the Hull Daily Mail on 3 March 1902. Note that Broughton was third engineer (shown in a crew list within the diary which also shows his brother in the list), and an inscription in the diary shows him to be resident at 6 Stainton Avenue, Grimsby. Enclosed are two pages of photocopied press cuttings relating to the SS Rinaldo, including the HDM report of the 1902 accident.
