Donated by Prof. John Saville, Department of Economic and Social History. It appears some of Saville's personal papers were deposited under the reference U DX70 but were subsequently moved to the main sequence of his papers under U DJS (see p.24 of the publication 'The Labour Archive at The University of Hull - Philip Larkin Memorial Series No.2'). Remaining material related to the National Council of Labour Colleges and also to the Humber Amalgamated Steam Trawlers', Engineers' and Firemen's Union. In June 2016 these discrepencies were spotted and the remaining material in U DX70 was split to create two collections: material currently within U DX70 now relates only to the National Council of Labour Colleges, whilst material relating to the Humber Amalgamated Steam Trawlers', Engineers' and Firemen's Union is now catalogued under U DX393.
