Frederick Brent Grotrian was born in 1838, he was Conservative MP for Hull East, 1886-1892, and at one time owned the Hull Daily Mail. He died on 8 April 1905. His son, Sir Herbert Brent Grotrian, was born in 1886 and sat as Conservative MP for Hull South West, 1924-1929. The Grotrian Baronetcy, of Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire was created on 28 June 1934. He died on 28 October 1951.
