Details of the political career of Doctor Hugh Webster can be found by searching through the minutes of the Hull City Council, available in the search room. The Hull Daily Mail has an obituary of Dr Webster in the edition dated 11 November 1952, and there are some some general articles, which can be accessed by the cards in the biographical indexes in the library. The newspapers are held on microfilm in the library area. There is a brief entry for Webster in the volume, 'The Medical Profession in Hull' by Bickford and Bickford, reference L.610. Programmes for the laying of the foundation stone and the official opening of Hugh Webster House can be found at C SRL/E/2-3.
